About Dr Rosie Dawkins

Dr Rosie Dawkins is a Vitreoretinal Surgeon, thus has special expertise and training in operations affecting back of the eye, including the macula, retina and vitreous gel.

​

She has expertise in all aspects of Vitreoretinal Surgery, and has a special interest in;

  • Retinal Detachments (including inherited syndromes in children)

  • Macular holes

  • Epiretinal membranes

  • Complicated lens problems

  • Diabetic retinopathy.

​

Dr Dawkins has public appointments with the Vitreoretinal Unit at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. 

 

With a strong interest in new developments in Vitreoretinal Surgery, Dr Dawkins pursues her research interests at the University of Melbourne.  

​

Dr Dawkins undertook her Ophthalmology training and Vitreoretinal & Macula subspecialty training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) followed by Cambridge, United Kingdom.

​

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr Dawkins is passionate about global Ophthalmology, having lived in Timor-Leste where she provided Ophthalmology care, trained local Doctors and undertook research for service development to the people of Timor-Leste.
